Beast is a 1985 Octave Mandolin by Pasquale Pecoraro in the style of the Embergher 5b Mandolin although it is dated internally as 1983
Ali wrote a number of pieces for beast including Mount Fuji and also played pieces specifically written for Ali and Beast
Scale 483mm. Length 800 Width 268mm.
The body of 36 fluted Maple ribs; the table is edged with black and white stringing and finished with an ivorine edge; The rosette of ivorine set in black mastic and edged with black and white stringing; the soundhole edged with ivorine; the scratchplate of tortoiseshell with ivory scrolls; the fingerboard of ebony with 29 frets under E Strings; removable tail piece.
